Asian American Actress Takes on Provocative Role in - The Fever

NEW YORK - Oct. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Korean-Amercian actress/producer, Sondra Anderson takes on the challenging role of playing Amber Choe, in the provocative new series, The Fever.  The show, which initially started out as a web series now also airs on local cable channels in New York City.

The Fever, stars Sondra Anderson as Amber Choe, the owner of a high-end matchmaking service that specializes in interracial couples as well as those with diverse sexual preferences.  Amber Choe is also a lesbian and author of a best selling book called "Queen of Passion"

When Sondra began development of The Fever with her husband who is the co-creator, her initial plans were to stay behind the scenes as a producer. But the challenges of finding an Asian American actress to play the role became all but impossible.  Sondra says, "finding a professional Asian American actress in her 30s in NYC to play a lesbian with multiple lovers, as well as perform simulated sex scenes some of which include nudity, was overwhelming so rather than water-down the role I took it on myself.  I looked at it as being a role model for Asian women who are usually stereotyped in Hollywood and very rarely given roles that are not only powerful but that push the envelope in many ways. When I formed my company, Poyzen Productions, in 2010, the goal was to bring more Asian American entertainers into the forefront in Amercia but never did I think I would be in a position to lead the charge.  Now that I am, I love being Amber Choe and want to truly develop her as a very strong character without any boundaries.

A 4 episode season 1 mini-series of The Fever was launched over the summer. Season 2, which begins this week and will be a full 12+ episode series.

In addition to starring in the leading role of Amber Choe, Mrs. Anderson is also one of the shows Executive Producers and will direct several of the episodes when she is not on camera.  Sondra's husband, Lorenzo Anderson is the shows current director and also the writer of many of the episodes.  Lorenzo also appears in the series as Derek Carter, a private investigator that works for Amber Choe.
