Dynamic Female Characters To Lead The First Two Vflix Original Series For 2022

NEW YORK - May 1, 2022 - PRLog -- With the New York City Film and TV production community finally back in full swing following the COVID19 shutdown.  NY based streaming platform. VFLIX, has announced the first two original series, scheduled for release in 2022. Both series will be fueled by powerful actresses portraying very strong female leading characters.

Samantha Opitz (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5301974/), will star as Nia Russo, in the music biz inspired drama, Platinum Dreams.  The storyline, as well as several of the characters, is partially based on the personal life of the show's creator, Lorenzo Anderson (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4558904/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1). The story begins with the leading male character, Jason Thomas, celebrating his 25th year in the biz by launching the career of a new and unique aspiring Pop Star.  Nia, the vice President at Jason's record label, takes over the day-to-day management of the company while slipping deeply into a steamy May/December relationship with Jason.  The distracting of both work and play by Nia and Jason are quickly overwhelmed by several individuals who wish to see Jason fall from his high perch.

Samantha, recently co-starred as FBI agent Veronica Santos, in season 3 of the VFLIX series, The Fever, which like many other productions, prematurely ended at the start of the pandemic in 2019.

Yasmina Obono Nang (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm12825825/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0), will star as Cassandra Carter, in the crime drama series, Queen of Passion. The show is the first of several spin-off series from The Fever.  Cassandra is the ex-wife of private investigator Derek Carter, who suffers the loss of several women close to him both personally and professionally in the finale episode of The Fever.  Cassandra comes back to help Derek seek vengeance for his losses while she also takes over the throne as New York City's "Queen of Passion", a nickname associated with the head of a high-end matching making service.

In addition to acting, Yasmina also brings the past experience of being both a professional dancer and model, which matches the background of the character, as well as her mixed race.  Yasmina was born in Madrid, Spain to a Spanish Father and African Mother.

Both series are "very'' provocative and rated TVMA with no limitations on content. Thus the actresses will go well beyond the comfort zone that many would not. This will be the trend of several of the original productions created for VFLIX in addition to a very high level of diversity within each cast.

Platinum Dreams and Queen of Passion are scheduled to begin streaming in early Summer 2022.
