3 in 4 Disaster Plans have major defects

Sept. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Park City – UT –Janco Associates Inc. (www.e-janco.com) has just released version 8.1 of its most popular product, the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Template.  It includes an updated DR/BC Audit program in addition to 17 ready to use electronic forms and the latest version of its Business Impact Analysis toolkit.

In a survey of 181 enterprise that had to activate their DR/BC plans, Janco found that only 52 (28.7%) of the enterprises were able to do so with limited difficulty.  M. V. Janulaitis the CEO of Janco Associates, Inc. said, "Two thirds of the plans had material error in them and over one half of all the plans were not up to date. " In addition, "We found that the primary reasons for many of these defects was that the plans were too difficult to keep up to date when they were in purely written format.  For this reason we have added 17 electronic forms to alleviate this problem.  Our forms can be completed via tablets and smart phones and stored on a remote cloud location." The CEO added, "With the included DR/BC Audit program, it now is easier to highlight those areas of existing plans which need work in order to guarantee success in the recovery process."
