PALO ALTO, Calif. - Sept. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OneTraction Portfolio Company Demibooks Acquired

PALO ALTO, CA – September 17, 2015
– OneTraction, a Silicon Valley-based Open Innovation Accelerator, announced the acquisition of an alumni of its program.  Demibooks, Inc. was acquired by Educational Development Corporation (“EDC”)  (, a United States publisher of Usborne and Kane Miller books.

Demibooks is among many other portfolio companies from OneTraction positioned to be acquired or received interest from top Fortune 100 tech companies, in addition to two other startups previously built by our innovation labs partners and acquired by Google and DropBox.  OneTraction CEO Andrew Preston said, “This has been a great journey and successful exit for Demibooks.  We are proud of their success and want to congratulate the team for everything they accomplish.  We are expecting more news like this from our portfolio startups and alumni and think they are just one of the many great startup stories in our program.”

Demibooks CEO Rafiq Ahmed said, "It has been a fantastic journey since Demibooks Composer first launched in 2011.  We are grateful to everyone who has helped build Demibooks along the way. We pioneered interactive book app authoring on the iPad, and have reached amazing customers in digital publishing, schools and beyond.”

According to OneTraction CEO, Andrew Preston, OneTraction’s disruptive and proprietary approach goes beyond lean startup methodologies which are focused on the product but often miss the work to launch, fund and scale a viable business.  Our guided execution approach enables founders to contribute incrementally on a weekly basis in building their business.  OneTraction does not just enable seed funding but takes them through each stages of building a Minimally Viable Product (MVP), to help validate product-market fit, gain traction and subsequent financing.  According to Preston, “this is by far the most complete program not just in Silicon Valley but across the United States.”

In addition, according to Preston, the OneTraction Fall Batch is now accepting applications until September 30, 2015.  Interested parties can apply by visiting for more information.  Interested founders, investors and partners are also welcome to visit OneTraction’s upcoming co-sponsored events page, including an upcoming Internet of Things Hackathon scheduled this month at Stanford University:
