Apologist Cris Putnam Gets Slammed By Marshall Barnes for Misrepresenting Stephen Hawking Again

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio - Sept. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Christian apologist and eschatology conspiracy theorist, Cris Putnam, was caught once again misquoting famed cosmologist Stephen Hawking in an attempt to make a point during his appearance on the popular late night radio show, Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis. Putnam, while being interviewed by show host, Clyde Lewis, made the statement that Stephen Hawking, who had once come out against the idea of transmitting signals into space for fear that they might attract aliens, had now mysteriously changed his mind, the implication being that he had been "bought off". In reality, Hawking had announced that he was a part of a $100,000,000 dollar effort, sponsored by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner, to detect signals from possible aliens in space. It would not involve sending signals to space but listening for them, according to news reports. This indicates that Hawking has not changed his position on contacting alien life.

"The 10-year project, called the 'Breakthrough Initiatives,' will utilize two powerful telescopes -- the Parkes Telescope in Australia and the Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia -- that will scan 10 times the amount of sky covered by previous efforts". NBC News reported.

"That includes a survey of the million stars closest to Earth and the search for signals from the 100 closest galaxies.

If an alien civilization near one of the 1,000 closest stars broadcasts a signal with the 'power of common aircraft radar,' the telescopes will detect it, the organization said."

"This is just another example of how Cris Putnam needs to stay out of the physics world where he has proved to be a big phony," Marshall Barnes, R&D Eng said. "He lacks the cognitive skill required to keep simple facts straight and approach issues from a factual, scientific point of view".

Marshall has clashed with Putnam before, so much so that he felt compelled to add a chapter featuring him and other eschatologists in his book on Stephen Hawking, Space Warps and Time Tunnels: The Infamous Legacy of One Stephen W. Hawking (see http://www.blurb.com/user/zanegmedia ).

"Putnam tried to tell me that I hadn't read the latest papers on wormholes and posted several links that he claimed supported his position." Marshall stated. "It turns out that only two were papers, the other was a book, and none of them supported his contention, proving two things - he didn't read the material and he's a damn liar. When I went to post my rebuttal, his web site wouldn't take my post, so I put it in my book where anyone else could read it and see the truth about him".

It was in that book that Marshall revealed how Putnam, and others like him, had repeated remarks that Hawking had made about the LHC possibly being a threat to the universe while leaving out that Hawking admitted that the probability was extremely low, meanwhile they made it appear that his prediction was related to their idea that any attempt by CERN to look for micro wormholes would result in opening a pit or gateway to Hell.

Marshall has indicated that he plans a major event exposing Putnam and the misinformation about CERN's LHC creating a opening to Hell through a wormhole, on September 23rd.
