![]() Sanctuary: Decagon Gallery Invites Photographers to Explore the Meaning of RefugeSpaces of refuge, moments of renewal. Cash Awards, Solo Exhibition, Global Exposure
By: Decagon Gallery Inspired by Maya Angelou's timeless reflection, "The ache for home lives in all of us," the exhibition seeks images that reveal where we turn when we need protection or peace. Sanctuary will be juried by artist Ovidiu Petca, an acclaimed Romanian artist and curator, with 600+ exhibitions worldwide and a history of organizing international art biennials. Selected photographs will be presented in an online exhibition on Decagon Gallery's website beginning December 15, 2025, accompanied by a digital catalog and short video presentation. Awards will include a $300 first prize, $200 second prize, $100 third prize, and a solo feature exhibition for the top photographer. "Sanctuary asks photographers to reflect on where they find stillness or strength," said John Manno, founder and director of Decagon Gallery. "In a world that often feels fragmented, this exhibition offers a visual conversation about our shared search for meaning and belonging." Participation is open to photographers of all ages and nationalities. Entries must be submitted through Decagon Gallery's online form by November 30, 2025. The exhibition welcomes both color and black-and-white photography across all genres, from documentary to abstract. https://www.decagongallery.com/ End
