PSOFT Mobile Releases Zen Brush 2 for iPhone and iPad

SENDAI, Japan - Sept. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- PSOFT MOBILE announces the release of Zen Brush 2 – Simple Ink Brush Tool, an app for iPhone and iPad that simulates the experience of performing ink wash painting with an East Asian ink brush.

Zen Brush 2 is a painting app focused on the strong yet beautiful feel of the East Asian ink brush. With a new drawing engine that brings to life a feeling of silky fluent painting and the delicacy of an ink brush, providing a simple and intuitive user interface imbued with the Zen spirit, this app is designed to be optimal for performing Zen art.

PSOFT Mobile managed to greatly improve on the highly regarded drawing engine of Zen Brush to create a new drawing engine for Zen Brush 2 that is based on a 3D model of an East Asian ink brush. Strokes change according to the movements of the users’ finger, providing a sensation just like a real ink brush. An even more varied and deep expressiveness is now possible.

The new features also include the ability to select the degree of ink dispersion. Users can enjoy the complex, three-dimensional expressiveness of ink-wash painting where the ink gradually soaks into washi (Japanese paper). The dry brush easily produces kasure (scratchiness) and is great for producing a rough appearance. The standard brush has moderate nijimi (blurring) and is ideal for a smooth appearance with little kasure. The wet brush easily produces nijimi and makes it possible to produce a pale, fleeting appearance.

Users can also now use red ink in addition to the main black ink. It can be used in many ways such as for signature seals, corrections or to create breaks in color.

Like its predecessor, the app supports a wide range of pressure sensitive styluses, but it can also simulate brush pressure based on the touch area on the screen, allowing users to express thickness from stroke strength even without a stylus.
