BOULDER, Colo. - Sept. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Almost one year ago a University of Virginia student, Hannah Graham, was abducted and murdered near the Charlottesville campus. She went out for the night; she walked home alone, and was never seen again. The Drunk Mode app and FABRIQ personal safety platform are partnering to put an end to these tragedies. The idea? Get crazy, but stay safe.

Founded by recent University of Virginia graduate, Drunk Mode is a lifestyle application for anyone and everyone who likes to drink, but doesn’t want to embarrass herself/himself. After an awkward, drunk conversation with a crush of his, CEO Joshua Anton conceptualized this technology as a way to make your drunken nights both socially and physically safer. With four main functions: Find My Drunk, Stop Drunk Dialing, Find A Ride, and Breadcrumbs, Drunk Mode is your sober friend when you go out.

“We are excited about the partnership with FABRIQ as they will be added to the current suite of safety features we already offer,” Anton said in a statement. “Rolling FABRIQ out to our present 750,000+ users is exciting because if someone were to go missing the FABRIQ platform, along with Drunk Mode, will have their back.”

FABRIQ, a personal safety platform that integrates into apps and wearables, is now enabling your Drunk Friend to take action, as well. Implementing its signature PANIC button - a push alert system that can notify your loved ones if you find yourself in a dangerous situation and escalate your safety profile and location to everyone on the FABRIQ network in a close georadius - FABRIQ is making it possible to not only find your drunk friend, but also assist her/him in an emergency situation. Strength is found in numbers, and with the FABRIQ crowd-sourced safety platform, Drunk Mode will be able to provide you with a community to keep you secure on college campuses and beyond.

FABRIQ started with the intention of helping people live life without limits. “Integrating with Drunk Mode just makes sense,” Co-Founder Violet Alexandre said in a comment about the partnership, “it brings us to college campuses in a real and meaningful way where there is a definitive need and gap in the personal safety market.” When you’re out with your friends and you’re drinking, it’s oftentimes easy to get separated from your group, get lost on your way home, or end up in a dangerous situation. By collaborating with FABRIQ, however, Drunk Mode is helping you stay safe. These young startups are working to make sure that your wild night out is not just one that you can remember, but one that you won't regret.
