Aug. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Bi-coastal visual effects company shade VFX has appointed Lisa Maher, former Business Development Executive, to the position of Executive Producer with primary responsibility for overseeing their Los Angeles based productions.

Maher assumes her new role at a particularly momentous time for her and her colleagues as shade VFX approaches Emmy season having garnered a nomination in the Outstanding Special Effects in a Supporting Role category for Netflix series Daredevil.

Maher joined the shade VFX team in 2013, boasting 20+ years in the film industry, primarily producing visual effects for facilities such as Rhythm & Hues and CIS-Hollywood. She completed production on over 25 feature films before transitioning into Business Development. She worked for Dr. D. Studios and Fuel VFX prior to joining shade.

In her two years as Business Development Executive, Maher’s focus has been on fostering collaborative, trusting relationships with new and existing clients. "Being part of the shade team has been such a rewarding experience,” she shares. “I feel that my move into this new role will only serve to strengthen our already successful relationships.”

Maher emphasizes that her key goals won’t change. “Focusing on the needs of our clients will still be my primary mission. I look forward to collaborating with Bryan, David and our talented crews in both Los Angeles and New York on our many upcoming projects."

“Lisa has been one of the driving forces of shade's recent, rapid expansion and growth. While acting as our Business Development Executive, shade's revenues grew 300% by the end of 2014, and are on target for even more growth in 2015,” says CEO Bryan Godwin. Shade Vice President David Van Dyke also adds, “Elevating Lisa to our Executive Producer position is a huge boost to shade and will only strengthen our continued growth in both Los Angeles and New York.”

“Shade has been experiencing exponential growth due to its reputation for creative visual effects and a very personalized client experience,” Maher explains. “We offer a full range of services but we are committed to supporting filmmakers through our expertise in supporting visual effects – effects that are completely invisible to the audience but totally essential to the storytelling process. With our recent Emmy nomination in that category, it's a very exciting time for us.”

The Shade team has lent their expertise to projects such as Daredevil, True Detective, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Intern, Black Sails, Olive Kitteridge, 22 Jump Street, Selma, Behind the Candelabra, and The Wolverine among many others. They are in post-production for a number of projects at this time, including Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, to be released in 2016.

Founded by VFX Supervisor Bryan Godwin in 2009, shade VFX has delighted the industry with its highly trained team offering boutique-level attention to detail in order to deliver clients dynamic and personalized solutions.

In 2014, Shade opened a studio in Manhattan at 475 Park Avenue South, which is centrally located for both clients and artists traveling from Brooklyn or New Jersey.

Shade's LA facility at Bergamot Station includes stage space that can accommodate green screen shoots and state-of-the-art technology. Bergamot Station is located on eight acres in the heart of Santa Monica and is Southern California's largest art gallery complex and cultural center.
