The Elbo Room, Samuel Adams, and 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey Present I AM FEST

CHICAGO - Aug. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, IL - The 7th Annual Independent Art and Music Festival will showcase a variety of local “do it yourself” bands who will showcase their talent at the House of Blues on Saturday, August 22nd with the opening band starting at 2:30PM. In addition to ten bands performing, three dancers will be taking the stage and 15 artists will be selling their artwork at this all ages, all day event with something for everyone.

I AM FEST started with 25 independent bands on multiple stages at the Congress Theater in 2008. Since then the festival has sold out at the House of Blues where each year ten bands get to grace the stage and be apart of something that is celebrating local bands and artists who want to share their work with other creative people.

The Elbo Room, the Chicago music venue that has been a stepping stone for musicians for over 25 years, is the presenter behind this art and music festival. Brian Bender has been the Festival Coordinator since 2008 and has been trying to evolve it every year. “This year we will become more interactive with the audience, we’ll have some of the Elbo Room’s programming during the set breaks. Imagine going to a concert but in between rock bands you get to participate in a Spelling Bee, Karaoke Sing Off and a few other surprises.”

The ten bands that are performing this year participated with over 80 bands this past summer in the I AM FEST Battle of the Bands which took place at the Elbo Room. I AM FEST has proven to be more than just another Chicago festival throughout the years, and this event will expose you to ten local bands that prove their independence in the music scene.
