A proprietary algorithm to determine the honourees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor over a 12-month period, as well as a business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. Businesses must maintain an overall TripAdvisor bubble rating of at least four out of five, have a minimum number of reviews and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. As 2015 marks the fifth anniversary of the award, TripAdvisor has made several Certificate of Excellence enhancements this year by awarding the Certificate of Excellence “Hall of Fame” to businesses that have won a Certificate of Excellence for five consecutive years to help reinforce the success of these award-winning properties. “We’re very pleased that our 9 properties in Thailand have earned the Certificate of Excellence Award this year.
