The Meggitt FATS simulator is the same tool used to train law enforcement and, in addition to being an extremely effective training tool, is also by far the coolest live shooter game a video gaming enthusiast will ever encounter. Note: All training weapons are totally inert and CANNOT fire a bullet or projectile of any kind. Since they have been permanently and irrevocably altered to fire a laser pulse recognized by the simulator, a pistol license is not required to use the system. Security Guard Classes 8 Hour Pre-Assignment The 8 Hour Pre-Assignment Course for Security Guards is a general introductory course that is required prior to submitting the application to be registered as a licensed security guard in New York. Upon successful completion of this course the student will be issued a certificate that must be submitted along with the security guards registration application and fingerprints. Once the application is approved by the state, the applicant may begin working as a security guard. Once hired, the guard has 90 days to complete the second training course (16 hour OTJ). Dates – Times June 23rd – 10am-6pm July 20th – 10am-6pm August 8th – 10am-6pm September 21st – 10am-6pm 16 Hour On The Job Training Course for Security Guards New York State Law mandates that security guards complete a sixteen (16) hour on the job training course within 90 days of initial employment as a security guard. Included in the 16 hour class is a one hour exam that consists of 50 questions multiple choice and true false questions. A minimum score of 70% is required to satisfactorily complete the course. As required by NY State law, our Instructors are certified to teach in accordance with SGP Part 6029. The security guard training course is administered by experienced Instructors at Global Security Group, a licensed and approved training facility conveniently located in midtown Manhattan. Dates – Times June 24th – 10am-6pm October 30th - 10am-6pm 8 Hour Annual Each calendar year following completion of the Sixteen Hour On The Job course the security guard must take this In-Service course as a pre-requisite for renewal of his or her guard license. Dates – Times October 30th – 10am-6pm 47 Hour Armed Guard Training Armed guard applicants must possess a valid NYS pistol license pursuant to Penal Law 400.00 and must complete a 47 Hour Firearms Training Course for Security Guards prior to applying for a Special Armed Guard Registration Card. Attendees must have BOTH a NYS Unarmed Guard License and a New York Pistol License. GSG is the only authorized firearms school in the region that uses a state of the art Meggitt FATS firearms simulator to assess a student’s ability to understand and apply the laws regarding the use of deadly force. Students attending our program will learn to handle a firearms with the same proficiency as highly-trained federal agents. Our lead instructor was a primary firearms instructor at the DEA/FBI Academy and provides training at the same level as given to trainees at that academy. No firearms program in the state can match the level of training we provide. Dates September 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th First Aid and CPR/AED Certification Training The First Aid and CPR/AED course is designed for persons with little or no medical training and is sanctioned by the American Heart Association. first aid training. Students will learn the critical skills needed to respond to sudden cardiac arrest, choking or other medical emergencies requiring immediate action pending the arrival of emergency medical personnel. Upon completion of the course, attendees will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course Completion Card that is valid for two-years. Dates – Times July 23rd – 10am-6pm Tactical Weapons Handling for Actors and Stunt Persons This program was designed specifically for the motion picture industry in conjunction with professional actors and stunt persons. This course will teach you to operate a weapon in the same manner as highly trained federal agents. You will learn to handle a firearm and move like a professional, bringing authenticity to action roles requiring the use of a semi-automatic pistol. Students will also get the opportunity to utilize our Meggitt Firearms Training Simulator.
