FAIRFIELD, Calif. - July 7, 2015 - PRLog -- If you are ready to try writing your first short story, novel, memoir, or book of poetry, you won’t want to miss a series of summer workshops being offered by the Writers Resource Center (WRC).  The center, which is made up of both beginning and published authors, will devote its summer meetings to helping writers find their voice; begin their manuscripts; master editing; and improve their work using peer critique. The first workshop will be held on Saturday, July 11 from 10 am to 12 noon at 1745 Enterprise Drive, Fairfield, room 113.  Admission is free for members and $10 for non-members.  Complementary refreshments will be served.  For more information please visit the group’s website at www.wrcnoca.com.

“We really want beginning writers to attend these sessions, although the meetings are open to everyone,” says WRC President Janie P. Bess.  “We’re finding that some first-time writers are intimidated because our group has a number of published authors.  We don’t want them to be; we want to show them how it’s done.”

Attendees should bring their own supplies or electronic devices and be prepared to participate in discussions and writing exercises.  The sessions also provide a great opportunity to network.

Bess to Offer Private Lessons

WRC President Bess is now offering private writing-coaching sessions at the center’s office. To sign up, or for more information, please call 800-859-0879.
