YES Clinics Launches In-Home Intensive Therapy

Looking for an Alternative to Wilderness and Residential Programs, YES Clinic’s Program can help. YES Clinics works with the family and keeps your child at home, while providing the intensive treatment they need.

AMERICAN FORK, Utah - June 17, 2015 - PRLog -- YES Clinics Intensive Therapy is Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) is an empirically based treatment model proven to be as successful as Residential Care programs*. MST is a treatment approach for children, teens and young adults with needs such as:  Pornography – Substance – or Immersive Technology Addictions, Anxiety, Depression, Conduct Disorders including Oppositional Defiance, Eating Disorders, Cutting/Self-Harm, Failure to Launch as Adults, and more.

Robert S. Robison, LMFT and President of YES Clinics states, “If you look at the research you will see the evidence pointing to MST programs being as successful as Residential Care and average 1/5th the cost or more.”

MST engages all available local resources including the entire family system, education systems, community resources, and employment resources, to name a few; referred to as wraparound services. “The wraparound approach is team-driven, family-centered and strength-based, and keeps the teen in their natural environment. Fifteen studies across 10 states have shown reduced restrictiveness of living situations, reduced cost of care, lower delinquency and improvement in social, school, and community functioning.”*

YES Clinics uses an MST model with a focus on connection, compassion and love; family system communication and shame management and reduction. YES assigns a team of trained therapists and mentor(s) to each patient and their family, often engaging in their home environment and/or other environments as needed. Each patient receives an assessment, strengths and needs analysis, and custom treatment plan based on needs.  Daily contact and multiple weekly therapy touch points are part of the program.

Robison states, “Removing a child from their home should be reserved for worst case scenarios once all other options have been exhausted, or when life or others’ safety is in imminent danger. Most families are unaware that programs like YES are available.”

Robison mentioned when Residential Treatment is used that the most successful programs include:

A. Heavy family involvement

B. Stability in post-discharge placement

C. Aftercare support for the patient and their family.

YES Clinics MST program is focused on those 3 areas; family treatment in the natural placement with aftercare, for as long as a client needs, to maintain stability.

The evidence for MST is compelling with MST studies showing for every dollar spent families and taxpayers save anywhere from $5 to $28.* YES Clinics MST services last approximately 4-6 months, depending on the need of each client and costs about 1/5 of standard residential treatment.

Robison was passionate about the vital need for all therapeutic programs to use compassion, communication, and empathy as the core for treatment. According to the research for successful treatment depends on the following:

1.Their own personal motivation and desire to change.

2. The connection and relationship with their therapist/team.

“After years of experience in the field, we have discovered that this powerful influence of love and connection can occur in and out of the clinic, and by enabling influences to occur, a client's own motivation and desire to change grows.”
