Asia Racing Team Tops China F4 Test Session in Chengdu

June 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Asia Racing Team’s Liu Kai finished second overall in the FIA Chinese Formula 4 Championship official testing at the Chengdu Circuit, topping the times in the second official session.

The Beijing racer continued his strong form in pre-season and having moved to Asia Racing Team he has adapted well to the Mygale-Geely throughout the official testing days at Zhuhai and now at Chengdu.

Just the last of the three testing days was timed, and Asia Racing Team-run Manthey Motors-livery car was the second fastest in the first official timing session, a shy 0,085 seconds away from the overall fastest.

Although the Asia Racing Team driver topped the time sheets in afternoon session, beating the competition by over three tenths of a second, the time was not enough to beat the morning session best lap time.

Commenting about the Chengdu’s test, Liu Kai said, "We learned a lot, and I think we’re going in the right direction. Everything we learnt here can be applied at other tracks. The team is doing a good job. The more we develop the car, the better it will be."

Philippe Descombes, Team Manager, added, "We had a good weekend showing great pace. The current car-driver weight regulation doesn’t benefit us but Liu Kai is getting more comfortable with the car and the front pace is there. We are looking forward to the championship start."

The FIA Chinese Formula 4 Championship kicks off on July 3rd to 5th at Beijing Goldenport Circuit.
