Advanced Eye Care Welcomes Second New Doctor

AMARILLO, Texas - June 4, 2015 - PRLog -- Advanced Eye Care welcomes the return of Dr. Jamel Vaughn to their practice where he will soon be serving patients at their Dalhart location. Patients and community members are invited to meet Dr. Vaughn over coffee and donuts each morning June 15-18 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Dalhart office located at 310 Rock Island Ave.

After completing an externship at Advanced Eye Care in early 2013, Dr. Vaughn fell in love with life in the Texas Panhandle. An honors graduate of University of Houston College of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, he has received many honors and awards in his career including two clinical letters of excellence for his service to the college and the community and continues to be strongly involved with organizations such as Prevent Blindness Texas.

Previously, he had been in private practice in the Dallas area, where he additionally helmed a clinic serving indigent children. An avid sports fan, Dr. Vaughn stays active by playing golf and basketball and can talk about anything sports related for hours. Dr. Vaughn hopes to put this passion to good use by becoming an asset to the youth sporting community that is so beloved in this area.

He and his wife, Leslie, a registered oncology nurse and Texas Panhandle native, have a son named Ryder. In his spare time, he enjoys attending sporting events, reading and the arts. Dr. Vaughn is also a passionate volunteer and enjoys serving his community in every way possible.
