ChoiceOne Urgent Care and University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center Partner to Open Urgent Ce

TOWSON, Md. - June 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Towson, Maryland—ChoiceOne Urgent Care, LLC and University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC) today announced they have entered into an agreement to open and operate a network of urgent care centers in Baltimore County. The joint venture offers area residents improved access to convenient, affordable health care in a well-coordinated network of providers.

The first ChoiceOne Urgent Care center is located at 1220A E Joppa Road, Suite 109, in Towson. It was previously Doctors Express Towson, which was acquired by ChoiceOne. The company will open facilities in Dundalk and Phoenix/Jacksonville later this summer, and it plans to expand to other locations in 2016.

“University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is one of the area’s premier hospitals with renowned physicians,” said Dr. Scott Burger, chief medical officer and chief operating offer at ChoiceOne. “Through this alliance, patients will have increased access to UM SJMC’s robust network of primary and specialty care providers, as well as its services. Patients will also receive the same exceptional service they receive at UM SJMC.”

ChoiceOne providers diagnose and treat all non-life-threatening illness and injury, such as colds, flu, broken bones, headaches, infections and sprains. The centers offer on-site X-ray, laboratory and on-site prescription dispensing services. ChoiceOne also provides pre-operative physicals, sports physicals and occupational health services, including pre-employment physicals, drug testing, workers’ compensation and vaccinations.

Providers see patients seven days a week and in the evenings, including holidays. Patients can walk in without an appointment or set their arrival time online at www.choiceone.com. ChoiceOne accepts most insurance plans and private payment.
