REDMOND, Wash. - May 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Come see this Bear Creek original musical theater production featuring a nine-member band playing honky tonk blues from the 50s and 60s.

It is the late fifties or early sixties in the heart of the Bronx. Mama and Papa Hershey have lost their grocery store lease to a large coffee company. Enter the local teenage patrons and friends of the Hersheys:  the Bronx boys and the Queen’s ladies. Dismayed by the loss of the grocery store, they set out to aid the Hersheys in their quest for answers and a possible solution. To do this, they enlist the aid of Snicker’s older brother, Rock. He discovers soon that he must deal with the real estate agent, Cinnamon, and her assistant, Caramel. The situation becomes tumultuous as love blossoms, and deception is uncovered.

This musical excursion through the past should rekindle old memories and move us to recall a time of youthful innocence and playful exuberance. So, get ready to tap your feet and relive your teenage years as Bear Creek’s Upper School thespians present “ROCK Candy & Cinnamon ROLL” for your enjoyment! Theater-goers are encouraged to dress in 50s attire for the performances.

In lieu of charging for admission, donations will be accepted to support completion of Bear Creek’s new Fine & Performing Arts Center. Our patrons’ generosity will help move us closer toward the realization of a high-quality, dedicated theater experience for students and audience members.

All performances are open to the public. The Bear Creek School Cornerstone Theater, 8905 208th Ave NE, Redmond WA, 98053, 452-898-1720, www.tbcs.org
