NEW YORK - May 6, 2015 - PRLog -- DEAD END EXPRESS

Do you have the strength and character to survive the harsh realities of extreme weather and unforgiving terrain? The five rugged heroes of National Geographic’s new show Dead End Express are bad ass, and their stories begin in their first episode, season 1 & PREMIERES THURS., MAY 7, 10/9.

Dead End Express is a relentless, high-powered set of stories whose characters are in real visceral danger and often complete isolation. Hundreds of miles from another soul, completely enwrapped in harsh weather and unforgiving terrain, totally removed from an emergency service that could save a life – the five rugged heroes of Dead End Express show us by risking their lives each day so that they can deliver supplies, food, and medicine to the most remote “off-the-gridders” in their regions. They risk life and limb so that those who chose to live off the grid can survive.

The characters you will meet and their methods of transport…

Brice Barnes of Hells Canyon is a water rapids genius braving incredible dangers to deliver supplies and help along the Snake River by a high-powered boat. Andy Breland of Flathead National Forest, Montana, hazards that huge wilderness by braving untamed trails with his partner and team of packhorses. Rob Kinkade’s cargo-flying mastery will amaze viewers as he flies his modified plane into dangerously short take-offs and off-road landings. Roger Phillips is constantly at risk on the winter ice of Alaska’s frozen Yentna River as he hauls supplies by snowmobile to his off the gridders. And lastly, Jeff Hemann commands his team of 30 world-class huskies to pull cargo twice their body weight in sub-zero temperatures over hundreds of miles.

The first three episodes to air “Welcome to the Wilderness”, “Fire in the Canyon” and “Stranded in the Tundra” will enmesh the stories of these five rugged heroes as they risk life and limb to reach their destination in remote locations … channeling their “Lewis and Clark” versions of the resolve of our first American Adventurers to spread out and put up stakes.
