By: Seceon May 6, 2015 - Seceon Networks announced Vijay Gill, one of the industries leading data center architects, is the first advisor to join its newly formed Advisory Board. Vijay Gill serves as the General Manager and leads the Global Network Services (GNS) teams for Microsoft (MSFT) Azure that support the foundation infrastructure for Microsoft’s online services for consumers and businesses worldwide. Prior to joining Microsoft, Vijay was the leader of the Backbone Engineering, Architecture, Network Security and Network Labs at Google (GOOGL), where he was responsible for the network architecture encompassing the dark fiber network, optical, MPLS and edge networks, as well as the data center network design. Vijay also spent five years at AOL, where he managed the network, peering and CDN teams for the ATDN network, a global backbone for AOL/Time Warner Cable (TWC). Prior to AOL, Vijay was the networking manager at AboveNet, and a lead engineer at Verizon/UUNET (VZ). Vijay holds multiple U.S. patents and has published several technical papers in various journals and conference proceedings, including seven IETF RFCs on multiple topics, including routing, security, multi-homing, MPLS and IPv6. He is frequently quoted in the press and is a featured speaker on network trends in the industry. In 2007 and 2010, he was the recipient of the Google OC and EMG awards for exceptional work for his contributions to the CDN and bandwidth projects. Chandra Pandey, Seceon Networks founder and CEO, said “the Seceon team is thrilled to have Vijay on our Advisory Board. Vijay is known throughout the industry as an innovation leader who always brings a focused execution strategy. Vijay is already making a direct impact on our innovation pace and decision trajectory via his feedback and guidance. His help will be instrumental to Seceon’s ability to deliver a highly scalable and reliable open software platform solution with actionable intelligence and automated remediation capabilities to address critical cyber security challenges faced by data center and enterprise security and network operation teams.” About Seceon Networks: Seceon is a stealth mode company focused on detecting data center cyber attacks after the breach. Signature based IDS techniques are ineffective in catching never seen before attacks. Next generation firewalls are too expensive, too complex, and add too much network delay to be deployed in server-to-server data flows. Host based systems are to ridged and add processing overhead/complexity to every host deployed. Seceon is focused on delivering what’s needed: A cost-effective approach to detect attacks in server-to-server and server-to-host flows that does not get deployed in the data path, that can detect any attack (zero day onward) and immediately remediates problems, reporting what actions were taken to solve the issues. It does so with a simple to use intuitive GUI that any operator can understand in less than 30 seconds. End
