Detect(ive) evil - a series of true stories by Claudio Biesele / First Part

In the year 1948 my grandfather (1898-1980) was moving from Holland to Switzerland with his three daughters to work as a professor for Theology at the University of Basle.

ZURICH - April 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Since 1942 he was professor of Systematic Theology in Groningen (Netherlands) and he knew Karl Barth, a theologian from Basle who thundered also against the Third Reich with passion and was censored by the official Switzerland at that time.

My grandfather fought in his homeland against the Nazis (he hidedjewish students). Years later he published an arcticle that describes that time of resistance. Title: About the resistance of the academics in Holland during the Second World War. One textclip says a lot to me: “The years of the German occupation have taught us that the word of a Dutch poet is true also for the Universities: It is impossible to make concessions without being damaged.” About Karl Barth my grandfather said: “The warning voice of Karl Barth in these days among theologians in Holland was of great importance.”

1951 for the first time my grandfather was recorded in a as we say “Fiche” (a record for suspiciouspersonsthat was created by Swiss authorities, concerning about homeland security). At that period my grandfather fought the idea of war, and Swiss authorities fought communism …

It is easy to understand that my grandfather and his family were not pleased as my parents wanted to get married. Obviouslymy grandfather  knew that my father came from a family with connections to fascism. He refused to give his blessing for the marriage. Nevertheless my parents married - with the help of another priest. Note about luck of love: I have never seen any photograph of this marriage in my whole life.

Soon after the marriage I was born in 1954. And that was the first opportunity to make the evil quality of this relationship real. I was named “Claudio”. In other words I should be like a limp. A devil with a big foot - something like lame. When I was a lttle boy my father called me frequently “dev” - a short form on his one for “devil”.  Of course at that time I knew what the word devil meant and reacted with cheerfulness because I sought it was a joke but I didn’t know the evil intentions which waited behind that word. I was always very happy with my name.

Read next time about further actions how to consolidate misfortune.
