Follow on Google News | Top Supporters of HBCU Engineering Programs to be Announced During Live WebinarBy: Career Communications Group This is the thirteenth year US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine has conducted the Top Supporters survey. The survey recognizes the employers and agencies that have gone above and beyond in their support of Presidential Executive Orders dating back to Jimmy Carter, which established a federal program “to overcome the effects of discriminatory treatment and to strengthen and expand the capacity of historically black colleges and universities to provide quality education.” Participants in the Top Supporters survey are the deans of the 15 ABET-accredited HBCU engineering schools, and the Board of Directors of Advancing Minorities’ Interest in Engineering (AMIE). Commenting on the survey, Tyrone D. Taborn, publisher of US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine said, “Doing this for the thirteenth time, we are consistently finding many organizations that are doing more than their share in building the STEM pipeline.” AMIE Chairman Darryl Stokes says, “Supporting HBCUs is essential to the development of our nation’s potential. America’s HBCUs have produced many leaders across all professions, and continue to be an engine of economic growth, both in the surrounding communities and for the graduates of the institutions.” To register for the Top Supporters of HBCU Engineer Programs Announcement and LIVE Webinar please visit, http://info.ccgmag.com/ About Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE) AMIE is a non-profit organization that expands corporations, alliances and institutions to attract and educate minorities of engineering careers and opportunities.
