Keeping Roads Safe Inc. has developed a device that, when installed into a vehicle, will activate when the vehicle is put in gear. KRS (Keeping Roads Safe) will then delay all text messages, snap chats, emails etc from being received or sent. Once the vehicle comes to a complete stop, KRS is deactivated and the people inside the vehicle will then receive their emails and text.

Mr. Poulain has been researching and developing this device for several years. Poulain went on to say “KRS is NOT an app. KRS is a device installed directly into your vehicle operating system. It is highly unlikely that a person with common or general knowledge, will be able to deactivate the device. unlike an app on your phone”

These days teenagers face a lot of peer pressure. texting, snap chatting, etc is what they do. Getting distracted because of texting, snap chatting, instagraming is a big big problem. I am sure many parents will feel better when their children are out with friends in a vehicle and texting, snap chatting etc could not happen until after the vehicle was stopped.” Poulain says.

With two teenagers about to get their drivers license, Mr. Poulain feels the timing works perfectly and has installed this device into his own family vehicles. When his teenagers borrow any of the vehicles, he knows that peer pressure, or teen impulsiveness will not play any role in distracted driving.

Every day 13 people in North America are killed and 1200 injured by distracted drivers.

In some Provinces and States, Distracted Driving caused more deaths in 2013 than impaired driving.

There are over Six Billion text messages sent each day in the US alone.

Contacts with major industry leaders, Concerned citizens groups as well as Police Associations, Insurance Bureaus, Transport Companies, and interested groups have been made. Mr Poulain is also in talks with parties that would like to see vehicle insurance rates reduced if drivers install this device.
