CAERPHILLY, Wales - March 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Leading truck manufacturer, DAF Trucks Ltd, has selected PHS BeSafe (http://www.phs.co.uk/besafe) to provide adequate protection and visibility for the DAF dealer network technicians across the UK.

DAF’s Franchising Manager, Greta Archer, said: “Our team required clothing that could cope with the wear and tear associated with working on vehicles and in hazardous areas as well as providing consistent branding.

“After consultation and trials with a number of wearers, PHS BeSafe made a number of improvements to the old range while maintaining a strong brand image for DAF as the UK market leader in the manufacture and sales of commercial vehicles.

“Up to now our workwear used to be made of a cotton blend with heat seal logos which, after a few hot washes, started peeling off.

“PHS BeSafe is providing heavyweight cotton-rich uniforms that look much better and last longer. The logos have been embroidered so they are not going to come off and they also have a bigger size range, therefore reducing the amount of special measure items and long lead times.”

PHS BeSafe also reacted to wearer feedback and made a number of changes to improve the range including stronger branding, deeper swing hip pockets and all main seams triple stitched to increase the lifespan of the garments.

The DAF dealer network is currently being supplied with three types of workwear:  branded navy blue overalls in a strong bespoke design with reflective tape for high visibility, a corporate style without tape and a flame retardant garment for those employed in welding and bodywork or working on petroleum vehicles for staff at its 134 franchised dealerships across the UK.

PHS BeSafe has been providing technical clothing and laundering services for over 15 years and is at the forefront of the UK workwear industry. The business is continually developing products and laundering services that offer optimum protection for work men and women, while ensuring that the best image of its customers is presented at all times explained Jim Graham, PHS BeSafe Business Development Manager.

He said: “At PHS BeSafe we specialise in providing flexible and reliable managed workwear clothing (http://www.phs.co.uk/besafe/our-brochure) and laundered solutions. We fully understand that the health and safety of employees is paramount to customers like DAF Trucks Ltd. We can tailor our products and services to suit any requirements whether it is a local company or a multi-site national organisation.

“We have all of the key capabilities to support the branded business with in-house design and development and global sourcing to achieve our customer’s lead times and commercial targets.”

As a single source for product design and development, UK inventory and a fixed menu of purchase and rental options, there are huge benefits for our customers with a complete and accountable solution from the one supplier.

Included in DAF’s package as standard from PHS BeSafe are identification and traceability of garments, collection and delivery and a laundry service using environmentally friendly, organic compounds which guarantee overalls are returned odour and irritant free.

Pre-qualifying its services to the utilities and rail industries, PHS BeSafe is an Achilles UVDB and Link Up accredited supplier, demonstrating the company’s commitment to health & safety, environmental and quality processes and procedures.

Parent company PHS Group (http://www.phs.co.uk/) is one of the UK's leading workplace service providers.
