SGS Wins Three-Year Contract for Technical Assistance and Inspection for the City Of Madrid

MADRID - March 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Since 2006 SGS has been providing inspection services and civil works consultation for the City of Madrid.

On December 1, 2014, the City of Madrid awarded SGS a new three-year contract, increasing the scope of work to include inspection and monitoring of works (http://www.sgs.com/en/Construction/Project-Management/Services-During-Construction/Construction-Supervision.aspx), inspections for maintenance of pavements and Geographic Information System (GIS) planning works.

This is the third contract awarded to the company by the City of Madrid due to the success of SGS’s performance for the client over the last nine years.

SGS Services for the City Of Madrid

SGS will provide, as part of the contract:

• A large team of inspectors with specific experience of street works, including civil engineers in the disciplines of project management, technical coordination, legal, IT and communications management, as well as inspectors and administrative staff

• A team of experts in GIS technologies for coordination between the City and other companies for GIS planning works

• Inspection of works to verify compliance with regulations

• Inspection of pavement incidents

SGS will also provide a communication system and specific software capable of analyzing the large volume of data obtained by SGS inspectors quickly. SGS developed the computer system in 2007 and will adapt it to fit the needs of the client.
