Velouk.net Interviews Lili Waste’s Business Development Manager, Tom Bustard

HULL, U.K. - March 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Velouk.net has recently interviewed Tom Bustard about his career on the competitive cycling scene. Racing since 2011, Tom has had the opportunity to race for some of the country’s top teams and has six wins under his belt.

Lifting the Roy Thame Trophy and achieving number 17 in the national ranking, Tom admitted that 2014 has been a great year for him, and revealed, ‘“The main highlight was probably racing with my good mate Nathan and having Bill Nickson in my corner. That combination got the best out of me. For sure winning races was great but sometimes there is more to cycling than personal glory”.

The interview divulged that Tom lives in Yorkshire and juggles his cycling career with a full time job. Working as a Business Development Manager at Lili Waste Services in Hull, Tom admits that his job takes up most of his time. Despite this, he also stated in his interview that the venture with Lili Waste “excites me as much as cycling”.

Speaking in greater detail about his role at Lili Waste, Tom said, “I am involved in a new venture in Hull this year which I am really excited about called “Lili Waste”, a waste management company. My boss and friend Matt Miles has helped me a lot with work and cycling. This will take up most of my time but this excites me as much as cycling does, so it’s fine. I am out and about but I love interacting with people”.

Despite his racing career going from strength to strength, Tom is reluctant to make a move into full time racing. In his interview he mentioned that there is a lack of security in professional racing, and he is pleased that he is able to race whilst also making a living “off his own back”. He finished by saying that, “Even if I was offered a ride for money, I would 100% keep my job. It’s a great job.

VeloUK asked Tom about his goals for 2015, and Tom replied that he was hoping to step it up a notch and race more National A races, with perhaps a place in the top ten.
