SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Feb. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Gigastrand released an update to their 2.0 operating system today fixing a couple minor issues with some of the included software. This release fixes issues with Angry IP Scanner, Virtual Box, and some software repository issues. It also updates several programs such as Chrome and Firefox to newer versions.

According to Mr. Gigabytes blog, , users who have an installation of Gigastrand OS 2.0 on their system can build the update themselves by following a few steps including downloading some updated programs from the Gigastrand Support Repository.

"Most users won't even notice there is anything wrong on the system," said Gigastrand Founder Josh Tordsen. "The programs that had an issue are ones most people typically don't use. We use them and that is how we found out they are not working. Once we figured out what the solutions were, we were about due for a updated release anyway. Rather than simply posting the fix on our website - which was less work - we opted to also build an updated image."

Along with the update, came several updates to the operating system's website, . The Gigastrand OS 2.1 .ISO image can be downloaded from that site free of charge.

"We paid particular attention to the repository and cost comparison pages. Both were a little out of date and needed some new information."

This is the first in a couple of versions that are planned for release. Gigastrand OS 2.1r is a retail disc image with additional preinstallation support features that will be included in the upcoming release of Gigastrand OS 3.0. A 64 bit version of Gigastrand OS 2.1 is also being discussed.
