Dr. Ali of ChiroCarolina To Contribute to the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund

Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Dr. Ali, a Charlotte chiropractor, together with the Carolina Physicians Group, announced their support for the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. In an interview, Dr. Ali said: "We are proud as UNC Chapel Hill Grad Physicians to support a great alumni's memory and raise awareness for research and a cure."

The alumni Dr. Ali is talking about is Stuart Scott, an ESPN anchor who lost his battle to cancer. Despite his death, Scott's family and the V Foundation expressed that they will continue his fight. In January 2015, they announced the new fund for cancer research in memory of Stuart Scott.

"Stuart's passion for education was unmatched," Susan Scott said. "He researched every aspect of his treatment to live with a beat cancer," she added. According to Susan, Stuart's research revealed the disparities and inequities faced by the African American and Hispanic-cancer fighting communities. Through the fund, they hope to assist these vulnerable communities who are also battling the illness.

Susan Braun, CEO of The V Foundation, explains: "Cancer is more than 100 individual diseases. As research accelerates our knowledge, we recognize how varied each individual cancer is, and how the same type of cancer can vary among different people." She added that many cancers can be more problematic in ethnic groups.
