Follow on Google News | Root3 work with Circle HousingCircle Housing saves money on their care home energy costs by opting for a LED lighting upgrade
LED was specified by the client due to the obvious energy savings that will be gained. The existing fittings contained 2 X 55w PLL lamps therefore with the energy consumption of the control gear the total consumption from each fitting was 126 watts. As the communal areas have well over 100 fittings fitted the solution had to fit the application in terms of the colour of the light, low energy consumption, amount of light produced and the aesthetic look of the product. As the areas are effectively the resident’s home the light had to warm and inviting, not too bright or too low for the residents to be comfortable and still offer a return on investment for the client in terms of initial cost versus a payback period the fittings could offer. Root3 offered it’s 25w surface mounted LED down light in 2,700k to give a warm lighting effect. The fitting is of a similar shape and look as the existing fitting. The energy savings gained is a massive 80% reduction as a result of the LED lighting upgrade therefore the return on investment will be a relatively short period and the customer will be enjoying a full return for their investment in next to no time. Farrendale Ltd, an electrical contractor carried out the installation. End
