Monty Chadha Joins Swacch Noida Campaign by Ponty Chadha Foundation

The Swacch Bharat campaign has resonated strongly with the nation with people from all walks of life joining in to support the PM’s clarion call for a cleaner India.

DELHI, India - Jan. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- The Swacch Bharat campaign has resonated strongly with the nation with people from all walks of life joining in to support the PM’s clarion call for a cleaner India. On the World Disabled Day on January 19, 2014 it was the turn of special students from Mata Bhagwanti Chadha Niketan (MBCN) to come forward and lead a campaign initiated by the Ponty Chadha Foundation directed at cleaning up Noida. The initiative was titled the ‘Swacch Noida’ Campaign.

The chief guest at the occasion, Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma addressed the gathering and praised the efforts of Ponty Chadha Foundation in promoting cleanliness in children. He said , “On the occasion of World Disabled Day, I extend my best wishes to the Ponty Chadha Foundation and Genesis Global School for the initiative. I also congratulate you for taking forward Mahatma Gandhi's and our Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a clean country. I really appreciate the enthusiasm that these children have shown towards the cleanliness drive. We should move forward with the oath to keep our surrounding clean and the whole world should see that India is a clean country."

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Manpreet Chadha (Monty Chadha), Vice Chairman Wave Group, attributed the vision of his late father to empower children with special needs for the coming up of MBCN as a facility for special children.  "This cleanliness drive is our humble initiative towards contributing to the 'Swacchh Bharat' mission and it is our endeavor to make Noida a clean city. It is a requisite to a clean and healthy environment and well-being of society. This drive is an indication that these children with special needs are equally concerned about the city", he said.

The children while clearing up the streets also roped in residents and general public who pledged contribution by signing on a pledge card. The same has been kept as a memento in Wave Mall, Noida.
