Follow on Google News | Limited Spots Available in Kid’s Multi-day Programs at Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard ResortBy: Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort The January session, running Jan 10-31, has sold out. Still available for purchase is the February session of the Mountaineers Program that caters to skiers 3 to 6 years old, and the Freeride Program, which is for both skiers and snowboarders ages 7 to 14. Both programs run every Saturday from Feb. 7-28, 9:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sessions are $299 per person and include an unlimited 2014/15 youth season pass as well as lunch on each of the four program days. Season-long ski or snowboard equipment rental can also be added for $149; helmets are required for all participants. “We are glad to see a passion for snow sports growing among families in the Vegas Valley community,” said Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR president and general manager. “Our youth programs have steadily grown in popularity over the years, which we credit to our excellent coaching staff that works hard to instill proper skills for young skiers/boarders in a fun and encouraging environment.” Both youth programs accommodate skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Programs focus on fun, safety, skill development and mountain awareness. Working with the same coach throughout the month-long program, children will be encouraged to learn new skills. As they progress, they will be exposed to different types of terrain and styles like freestyle, racing, side-country and more to help bring their skiing/riding to the next level. Children will develop friendships with their fellow Mountaineers and Freeriders while enjoying the social atmosphere of both youth programs.
