Highlands NC Chamber of Commerce Mobile App

HIGHLANDS, N.C. - Dec. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Highlands, NC – The Highlands Chamber of Commerce announced today that the new mobile phone/tablet app is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app offers visitors mobile access to lodging, dining, cultural arts, outdoor activities and shopping information, as well as directions, calling, photo sharing and other native device features. The goal of the app is to provide visitors anywhere/anytime access to resources about the Highlands area and merchants, thus creating a better experience during their visit to the Highlands area.

The creation of a mobile app about the Highlands Area is the brain-child of the Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center. The phone based app will enable a portable version of the printed Visitors Guide, while additionally reducing paper/printing usage to protect our mountain environment and leveraging mobile native technology.Bob Kieltyka, Executive Director of the Highlands Chamber of Commerce, says “the mobile app is the first step in a series, applying new technology to vastly expand and improve visitor engagement with the Highlands Community by creating the best visitor experience from the first internet search until returning home………..it is truly the Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center….at your service!”

The Highlands Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1931 to be the voice of business on the Highlands? plateau and the surrounding area. It currently operates out of the Marchant-Parker-Davis-Patterson House located at 108 Main Street. The Chamber also houses and operates the Highlands Visitor Center from the same location.
