American Paper & Twine Co. Announcing The Teacher of the Week - Week Fourteen

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dec. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- American Paper & Twine Co., Titans Radio and Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers announced Lauren Henderson, a Kindergarten teacher from Julia Green Elementary School in Nashville, Tennessee, was selected as Teacher of the Week, for week fourteen of the Tennessee Titans 2014 football season.

“The Teacher of the Week program is a great way for us to give back to teachers and communities throughout Tennessee,” said Lonnie Spivak, American Paper & Twine eCommerce & Marketing Manager. “We are glad to be able to provide so many incredible teachers, like Ms. Henderson, the recognition they deserve.”

Lauren Henderson was nominated by Julia Green parent, Suzanne Corey, who said, “Sending your first child to Kindergarten is a major milestone in parenthood. I remember tearing up as I dropped her off…would she make friends? Will she feel cared for? Will she learn to read? Will she be safe?” Suzanne continued, “Ms. Henderson is in every way the teacher you want for your child. All my mom-worries subsided once we met her. She is so warm yet firm. She is loving but driven. She is organized but flexible. She works hard but is tireless. She made the year truly incredible for all of the families in her class. She went so far above and beyond with her projects, special days, memory books, lessons, and routines. And, she also took the time to support their relational needs---matching friends, putting out little fires, and inspiring support among her little people. I can't think of someone more deserving than Lauren. She made everyone's year!”

Each week during the Titans’ season, submissions are reviewed to find exceptional teachers. The winning teachers receive a $400 gift basket full of supplies for their classroom and two tickets to see a Tennessee Titans home game. A new winner is announced every Tennessee Titans game and at the end of the season a ‘Teacher of the Year’ is selected from the Teacher of the Week winners. This deserving teacher will receive an award, a gift basket of school supplies (worth approx. $800) and tickets to the December 28th game vs. the Indianapolis Colts.
