American Paper & Twine Co. Announces The Fourth Teacher of the Week For The 2016 Titans Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Oct. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- American Paper & Twine Co., the Tennessee Titans and Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers announced Mr. Justin Barton from Volunteer High School in Church Hill, Tennessee, was selected as Teacher of the Week for the Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans game.

"During the Tennessee Titans season, we receive nominations for teachers from across the region," said Lonnie Spivak, eCommerce & Marketing Manager for American Paper & Twine Co. "With so many outstanding nominations, it is difficult for our team to pick the winners each week—but we are very excited to present Mr. Barton with this award."

Mr. Barton teaches Language Arts and was nominated by his student, Kihley Bellamy. She said, "Mr. Barton pours countless hours into his classroom and community. In class, he tries to engage his students by playing games to help with learning and choosing texts that increase our world perspective. His class is challenging, but he will help you be successful." Kihley continued, "He devotes a lot of time to after-school activities. He is a coach and the advisor of the Key Club, which does over 60 different projects throughout the year. He helps students develop leadership skills and helps them see the need for service in the community. He devotes many of his nights and weekends to allow his students opportunities to give back when he could be spending time with his family.

"He even takes us on a field trip at least one weekend a semester. When we have an event such as prom or a talent show, he is always helping in some way. He also tries to attend as many sporting events and student activities as possible. Last year, he coached one of his Speech students to win a regional oratorical."

Each home game during the Titans' season, submissions are reviewed to find exceptional teachers. The winning teachers receive a gift basket full of supplies for their classroom and two tickets to see a Tennessee Titans home game. A new winner is announced for every Tennessee Titans home game and at the end of the season a 'Teacher of the Year' is selected. This deserving teacher will receive an award, a deluxe gift basket of school supplies and tickets to the December 11th Titans game vs. the Denver Broncos.
