MINNEAPOLIS - Nov. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Dick Gregory, pioneering comedian and legendary opponent of social injustice recently spoke with Ralph L. Crowder III; Independent producer for Freedom Radio News & Culture Television Network, and courageous filmmaker to watch.

Gregory advocated for the presence and importance of independent black media. He expounded upon why such entites will forever be a cherished and neccessary resource especially for black communites as they continue to be inudated with conflicting corporate media perspectives.

Best known as a comedian and civil rights activist, Gregory's social satire changed the way white Americans perceived African American comedians since he first performed in public.

Gregory's autobiography, Nigger, was published in 1963 prior to The assassination of President Kennedy, and became the number one best-selling book in America. Over the decades it has sold in excess of seven million copies. His choice for the title was explained in the forward, where Dick Gregory wrote a note to his mother. "Whenever you hear the word 'Nigger'," he said, "you'll know their advertising my book."
