Calvary Community Church Installs Their New Senior Pastor

 
MANTECA, Calif. - Nov. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Pastor Joe Brown was installed as the new Senior Pastor of Calvary Community Church, Manteca, CA on Sunday November 9. Transitional Pastor Mark Belokonny gave a formal ministry charge to Pastor Brown and to the congregation. Pastor Belokonny led an 18-month guided search process by Calvary’s 12-member Search Team. Pastor Brown succeeds Pastor Dan Angove who served Calvary Community as Senior Pastor from 2000 until his retirement in April 2013. Pastor Brown is Calvary's 8th Senior Pastor.

Pastor Brown came to Calvary Community after serving at Hillside Church in San Jose, CA (2007 to 2013), Grace Bible Church in Arroyo Grande, CA (2004 to 2007), Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, CA (1998 to 2003), First Baptist Church of Lakewood in Long Beach, CA (1993 to 1997), and the Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley, CA (1992 to 1994). In those positions, Pastor Brown served as a senior pastor, associate pastor to adults, and pastor to children, high school and college students. He also served as a board member and officer of the Evangelical Free Church of America West (2008 to 2012).

Pastor Brown has a Master of Divinity from BIOLA University | Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada, CA and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

Pastor Joe and his wife Tricia have three children: Morgan (15), Sam (13) and Taitem (10). When he is not serving the people of Calvary or spending time with his family, Pastor Brown enjoys photography, running, snowboarding, skateboarding and mountain biking. As a family they enjoy Disneyland, the beach, Yosemite, Tahoe and exploring the Bay Area.

Calvary Community has two Sunday morning worship services, 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM. Calvary offers a spiritual home, people to connect with, opportunities to experience the caring heart and compassion of Christ followers, and the closeness of genuine friendships. Members and visitors remember Calvary for its worship style and energy, the music and singing, the friendliness, and the children and youth programs. Two of Calvary’s vibrant ministries include Lions N’ Lambs, a popular preschool/kindergarten and the Food Pantry outreach that serves over 300+ families a month.
