Strong participation on the second day of the "International Competition"

National teams from Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia geared up to deliver best culinary and hospitality innovations
 
Nov. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- [UAE, 1 November, 2014] – The second day (Friday 31 October 2014) of the "International Competition" started with a strong participation of the Lebanese, Moroccan, Palestinians and Saudi Arabian national teams, by offering traditional and innovative dishes in front of an expert jury specialized in the art of cooking and hospitality. The 12 participating national teams have received recently a seminar in advance, in the Meydan Hotel, regarding the terms, regulations and the criteria used in the arbitration process in preparation for the "International Competition".

“The ‘International Competition’ celebrates the Emirati, Gulf and Arab heritage with the participation of 12 teams from the UAE, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco. We welcomed all their inquiries and made some clarifications during the recent seminar; which delivered a robust performance with high level of creativity, excellence and professionalism during the competition.” said, Majid Al Marri, Director of International Competition and Hospitality Sector Competition at DWHC.

Yusuf Akiki, Manager, Lebanese Team, said: “I was privileged to take part in many cooking championships in the past but this is our first international participation. We are honoured we participated in this leading event in Dubai, which continues to prove itself as a pioneer in the hospitality industry. The International Competition offered an ideal platform to showcase our talents to the global stage. We were well prepared for the second cycle of DWHC and very excited to participate as one team and one spirit to raise the Lebanese flag up high. We presented traditional Lebanese dishes in a new and innovative style, while complying with the set rules and standards. We thank the organizing committee for inviting us and for their extensive support.”

Meanwhile, Jamal Hammash, Manager, Palestinian Team, said, “We thank the organizing committee of DWHC for inviting us to take part in this international event and for supporting our team. We worked hard and hope to win the competition for Palestine. It is a great honour for us to represent Palestine worldwide and this event gave us the opportunity to gain new expertise. We presented, during the competition, a variety of traditional Palestinian dishes in a refined and modern manner.”

Finally, Maher Ibrahim, Manager of Saudi Arabia Team, expressed his delight to come to Dubai to represent Saudi Arabia in DWHC which offers the highest international levels of professionalism. “We delivered the well-known traditional Saudi dishes in fusion style, in addition to a variety of Saudi desserts presented in an innovative way with the hope to receive positive feedback and win the title. We thank the organizers of DWHC and wish all the best to our team as well as the other participants.”

The three-day DWHC 2014 is being organized by Za'abeel Palace Hospitality in cooperation with the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and The Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG), and with the support of Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development, Dubai Press Club, Emaar Properties and Flydubai. The event is being held on a 25,000 sq m area across four halls in Dubai World Trade Centre, including Sheikh Saeed Halls 1, 2, 3 and Arena Hall, which has the capacity to welcome over 10,000 visitors a day.
