Follow on Google News | ![]() Come and Meet Emerging Toronto Photographer Nicky Jameson at the Arts Market, 1114 Queen St EastWhen you purchase a piece of artwork for your home or office, you seldom get the chance to meet the artist whose talents created the piece. On Saturday November 1 at the Arts Market Leslieville that's about to change for local Toronto art lovers.
Nicky is blossoming into a genuine, exciting talent in her home town of Toronto. She recently became a finalist in the “My Photograph Waterfront Contest” as organised by The Waterfront Business Improvement Area. Nicky's winning photograph, “Winter Morning on Toronto's Waterfront” of Bathurst Quay in Toronto, is available for viewing until November 2 at Queen's Quay Terminal. Nicky has her own gallery at the Arts Market, and is looking forwards to meeting some of the art lovers of her adopted city between noon and 3pm. Many of her best pieces will be on display and of course will be available for purchase, and she will be showing off some of her latest artworks. “My art photography gallery gives me a unique opportunity to meet local art lovers in person,” says Nicky. “It is a very different experience from the online world, and people remark how different my pieces look 'in real life' as opposed to being displayed on a computer monitor or laptop. I love to meet people who have an interest in my work, and to be able to share with them some of the stories of what inspired me to capture that particular image at that particular moment in time.” Nicky is a Londoner from England, but has now lived in the Harbourfront area of Toronto with her husband Harry for well over a decade. Upon viewing Nicky's gallery of wonderful and interesting photographs, it is hard to believe that she is entirely self-taught. She has a genuine talent for perfectly capturing and framing images in a way that turns the seemingly mundane into something almost magical. The Arts Market in Leslieville at 1114 Queen Street East is home to over 50 of the most talented people who currently reside in or near the obviously very talent-rich city of Toronto.
