New Bone Imaging Technology Now Available for Cancer Patients in Lodi

LODI, Calif. - Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Valley P.E.T. Institute and Ben Schaffer Cancer Institute are pleased to announce a new program offering more precise imaging to treat cancer with radiation therapy. This new program will offer PET/CT imaging to cancer patients, providing a more detailed picture for radiation oncologists to pinpoint and treat cancer that has metastasized to the bone.

Bone imaging scans using PET/CT equipment provides whole body views of the skeleton that are an important tool for the detection and evaluation of metastatic bone cancer. This technology helps physicians diagnose, stage and treat cancer with more accuracy than ever before. It also reduces the need for invasive procedures, like biopsy or surgery, and monitors patients’ response to treatment to ensure the treatment is working.
