Seniors Get Tech Savvy on the Coast

Seniors on the Central Coast are ready to get technologically savvy with a special program to be run at Central Coast Community College.

GOSFORD, Australia - Oct. 12, 2014 - PRLog -- The Tech Savvy Seniors course has been developed for those over the age of 60 and is designed to take away the fear factor when dealing with technology.

Jonathan Davis, Executive Director at the College said ‘A lot of people over the age of 60 haven’t had the opportunity to learn or develop their computer skills, and to some this can be quite daunting. We are delighted to be able to offer a program that can help people develop the skills to assist them in everyday life. Using social media is particularly important to senior citizens as it helps them to stay in touch with friends and family’.

The course includes an introduction to email, social media, the internet and using tablets. The Program is partly funded by the NSW Government and for only $49.50, seniors can attend 3 sessions that will have them discovering a whole new world online in no time at all.

The College will be running two programs. The first will commence on Saturday 15 November and run for three Saturdays between 10am and 2.30pm. The second program will commence on Wednesday 19 November and run for three Wednesdays. To be eligible applicants must be aged 60 or over.
