CONNOLLY, Ireland - Oct. 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Clare County Council is urging land, home and business owners in flood prone locations to remain vigilant over the coming days due to a heightened risk of tidal flooding.

The local authority says the risk, which it described as low at present, is the result of a combination of autumn equinox tides, strong winds, sea swells and low atmospheric pressure.

A Council spokesperson stated: "Sea levels will be higher than normal along the west coast of Ireland during the coming few days but we do not at this stage foresee any significant flooding. However, it is important that those living along the coast and the Shannon Estuary remain vigilant. Clare County Council will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further updates where necessary."

Flooding advice is available on www.flooding.ie. Information included on the website includes advice on identifying flooding risks, protecting property against flooding, necessary steps to be taken if a property is flooded, and assessing and repairing property damaged by flooding.
