Arizona Ballot Proposition 304 is Bad for Arizona

Senate Candidate urges voters to vote NO on Arizona Proposition 304

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - Oct. 3, 2014 - PRLog -- Scott Prior, candidate for the Arizona Senate officially opposes Arizona Ballot Proposition 304.  Prop 304 was referred to the ballot by the State Commission on Salaries for Elective State officials.  It proposes a salary increase for State lawmakers from $24,000 to $35,000.

“As long as our state ranks as low as we do for child wellbeing, as long as our state has an unemployment rate higher than the national average, and as long as our state ranks as low as we do in Education, I don’t feel that our legislators are doing a good enough job to deserve a raise” says Mr. Prior.  “Where I come from, people only get a raise for doing their jobs above and beyond the basic requirements, not just for filling the position for a period of time.  Why should Legislators receive a pay increase, when they refuse to give anyone else a pay increase by raising the minimum wage?  Why should any elected official expect a pay increase when we can’t even fully fund education?  It is not right, and I will vote against Proposition 304 in the General Election.”

Mr. Prior is currently running for the Arizona State Senate in Legislative District 16, which covers Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, East Mesa, and the northern San Tan Valley.
