Boston, MA - September 29, 2014 – Boston startup Splitzee announced the beta test today of the web’s first dedicated group gifting platform. Primed by the mainstream acceptance of both crowdfunding and social media, and aimed at solving the frustrations and challenges around pooling funds and finding the perfect gift, SplitzeeGifts will launch with more than 200 curated gift options built on top of the company’s tested money pooling platform.

“The standard way of pooling money with friends & family to buy a group gift is hectic and stressful,” said Wendy Chandor, Splitzee’s VP of Merchandising. “The organizer has to juggle the cash, keep track of checks, remember who’s paid and who hasn’t – and endure the awkwardness of asking friends for money. Beginning in October 2014, SplitzeeGifts will be the destination site for group gifting on the internet. Through careful product curation, the site will be a resource for unique, valuable gift ideas and will also serve as a platform to collect funds, process fulfillment, and manage the myriad social realities that come with money pooling. Users will now be able to go to one location to find the ideal group gift for anyone or any occasion and be guided seamlessly through the pooling process.
