This year’s EMBODI Program will consist of 4 sessions between October and May 2015. The sessions are from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Sweetwater Middle School located at 3500 Cruse Road, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.This year’s program will accept forty (40) participants. With a 60% graduation rate amongst African American males in Gwinnett County, statistical data suggests that the vast majority of this demographic continues to be in crisis and is not reaching its fullest potential educationally, socially and emotionally.

EMBODI is designed to address these social and systemic  issues through dialogue and recommendations for change and action. It will feature motivational speakers that are highly engaging and have a passion to help male youths succeed. Workshop sessions will also be offered that focus on leadership skills, fostering self-esteem, entrepreneurship, health and fitness, and education. EMBODI will also address issues related to STEM (Science, Technology and Math) education, culture, self-efficacy, leadership, physical and mental health, healthy lifestyles choices, character, ethics, relationships, college readiness, fiscal management, civic engagement and service learning.
