Rackstuds introduces new 'blue' version to accommodate Chatsworth and Great Lakes racks

EAST TAMAKI, New Zealand - Sept. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Rack Studs Limited has today released a new version of their revolutionary Rackstuds™ that will now work with the likes of Chatsworth (CPI), Cooper B-Line, Dell PowerEdge, Great Lakes and Rack Technologies IQ frames that have thicker vertical rails.

A number of clients who purchased red Rackstuds advised that the studs did not fit their racks and upon investigation, it was discovered that a number of providers were building their racks with rails above 2.2mm/0.086". A new version was quickly prototyped and samples were sent out worldwide with a request for immediate feedback so that a solution could be expedited. The response was fantastic with everyone confirming the new blues ones now work. Within six months of being notified of the issue, Rack Studs Ltd is pleased to advise that the RSL100-2.7's are now commercially available.

The current red Rackstuds work with rails up to 2.2mm/0.086" and the new blue ones will now accommodate racks with rails between 2.2mm/0.086" and 2.7mm/0.106" in thickness. Rack Studs Ltd recommends keeping to the red Rackstuds if your rail thickness is ≤ 2.2mm/0.086". To aid in deciding which stud to use, Rackstuds have added a new page to their website which tables the two different versions and the known rack status. This information was gathered from customer feedback and is updated on a regular basis.
