Classic of Denton Donates $5,000 to Kidd’s Kids on 106.1

DENTON, Texas - Sept. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- On Wednesday morning, September 3, Classic of Denton, a locally owned auto dealership, donated $5,000 to Kidd’s Kids Fundraising Day on 106.1 Kiss-FM (KHKS). This donation, along with thousands of others from residents and companies in the Denton and Dallas areas, will allow the Foundation to take a group of special needs children to Walt Disney World. This fundraiser and trip to Walt Disney World will be the 20^th time that this locally established charity will be taking children on the dream of a lifetime.

According to a press release issued by the Kraddick Foundation, “Children selected for the Kidd’s Kids Trip are between the ages of 5 and 12, suffer from a chronic or terminal illness, are physically challenged and/or have a catastrophic impairment due to an injury or accident. A panel of doctors and staff studies every application and has the unenviable task of choosing each year’s participants, making certain that the children won’t have their health affected by a five-day trip with other families and a park full of strangers. The children must reside in The Kidd Kraddick Morning Show listening area, be able to appreciate the trip and demonstrate a financial need.”

“It is our honor to help children in our area. Classic and all of our employees take pride in being an intimate part of the local community. Things like this donation and our 1948 Veterans’ Jeep are just a portion of how Classic strives to give back to the people, and especially the children, of our area,” said Rick Wick, General Sales Manager for Classic of Denton.

Kidd Kraddick, a radio show on KISS-FM for years, started this charity twenty years ago. His daughter, the self-proclaimed “original Kidd’s Kid,” is helping to continue her father’s legacy. Last year’s event was the first time that the fundraiser and trip occurred after her father’s death.

“I hope to see this event continue for many years to come. Taking care of children in need is just one the reasons that I know that we live in the greatest community in the United States. It is our privilege to be able to help,” Wick said.
