SAN ANTONIO - Sept. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The Little Aussie Bakery & Café, a local gluten free bakery, has applied for a $150,000 grant from Chase as part of a newly launched program, Mission Main StreetSM Grants. The Little Aussie Bakery & Café must submit a questionnaire outlining a business plan that will result in growth of the business and receive at least 250 votes to be eligible for a grant. Customers, fans and community members can show support for The Little Aussie Bakery & Café by voting at https://www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/business/detail/8237 using Facebook Connect. The voting deadline is October 17, 2014 and grant recipients will be selected by expert panelists.

“This [grant] would enable us to create a satellite store, that would be supplied by our existing facility,” said John Apostolovic, owner of the Little Aussie Bakery & Café, “The primary purpose would be to provide convenient access to the public to our broad range of great tasting allergy-friendly products. This would also represent the blue print for duplication. [It] would lend itself to franchising or other forms of duplication.”

Through Mission Main Street Grants, Chase will award $3 million to small business across America. All businesses that apply for a grant and meet the eligibility requirements will receive a special offer from Premier Sponsor, Google. In addition, the 20 grant recipients will be eligible to receive a trip to Google for an exclusive small business marketing workshop with Google experts and a Google Chromebook laptop.

The 20 grant recipients will be announced in January 2015. Consumers can show support by voting for The Little Aussie Bakery & Café at https://www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/business/detail/8237 using Facebook Connect before the voting deadline on October 17, 2014. About The Little Aussie Bakery & Café

Established by two Australian Registered Nurses who have lived a gluten-free lifestyle for over thirty years, The Little Aussie Bakery & Café began in 2006 as a dedicated gluten-free experimental kitchen.

Our food is built on the premise that it’s possible to create gluten-free food that meets the dietary needs of growing numbers of gluten intolerant, while celebrating all the best that food has to offer in taste and texture. Validation came in 2011 when Rita was nationally recognized as one of the top 10 artisan bakers in the U.S. by Dessert Professional Magazine. She was the only gluten-free baker among those recognized.
