Best for Babes and their 2014 partners Breastfeeding USA, the United States Lactation Consultants Association (USLCA), and Kellymom.com, have joined together to create a national brand and opportunity for everyone to get behind this cause and help remove the barriers that make succeeding unnecessarily difficult and, too often, unattainable.
Participating is easy: anyone can sign up for $25 on the Best for Babes website and start a team, join an existing local team, or join the virtual team. Participants choose a fun fitness goal—e.g., run/walk, bike, stroll, yoga, golf, and swim. Each participant commits to raising $200 and gets a customized personal profile page to facilitate fundraising. www.bestforbabes.org/
Proceeds will be used to fund initiatives to reach and educate more moms about the prenatal barriers and how to navigate them, enroll them in prenatal support groups, and connect them to lactation consultants. Sponsors include: Leading Lady/Loving Moments, Palo Alto Software, Earth Mama Angel Baby and Limerick Workplace Lactation Program.
