COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sept. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Celebrate fresh harvest from a new Columbus community garden with a course on "Canning, Pickling and Preserving," set for Saturday, September 6, 10am-2pm at Church of Christ of the Apostolic Faith, 1200 Brentnell Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43219. The cost of $15 will include supplies. All students will take home jars of delicious preserved produce.

"Don't you just love pickles, jams and tomato sauce? Wouldn't you love to lean how to make your own. Here's your opportunity. If growing your own food is like printing your own money, then preserving your own food is like saving your hard earned cash!” said Paula Penn-Nabrit, founder of the Charles Madison Nabrit Memorial Garden, class instructor and Telo Training director.

The class will feature instruction on how to use the Water Bath method and the Pressure Cooker method of canning. Recipes for Strawberry jams, Spicy Garlic Dill Pickles, and Roasted Tomato & Garlic Sauce with Basil and more will be covered.

Telos Training Inc., a non-profit organization, sponsors ongoing gardening and empowerment classes. This class is limited to 30. Please sign-up today. Here is the link for more information:
