-- International guitar guru Tom Hess, has revealed the methods for mastering guitar technique using effective practice methods in his latest resource about practicing guitar (http://tomhess.net/
In his resource, Hess discusses why most guitar players never achieve virtuosity in their playing because they lack motivation and/or do not understand how to properly practice.
Hess says, “Before you will become a better guitarist, you MUST realize and believe that you DO have the potential to achieve your musical goals, just like any of your favorite guitarists. If you are still having difficulty in your guitar playing, it does NOT mean that there is something wrong with you, or that you have no talent.”
In addition, Hess discusses how guitarists often don’t know how to practice properly:
“The major mistake guitarists make when practicing is attempting to solve symptoms (perceived problems) in their playing, instead of focusing on ROOT issues (actual problems). This is particularly common among self-taught guitarists, who weren’t taught how to properly practice guitar. As you saw in the video above, it’s very easy to misdiagnose a problem and to wrongly assume that you understand its cause, only to throw away weeks or months on practicing the wrong things - making little/no progress.
